The project aims to build a strong cross-border sports community in the border regions of Setomaa, Räpina (Estonia), and Aluksne (Latvia) by:
Project Objective:
- Promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among local residents, with a special focus on involving women.
- Organizing 13 joint sports events to strengthen cross-border cooperation.
- Engaging approximately 630 participants from Estonia and Latvia in sports activities.
Key Activities:
- A diverse calendar of cross-border sports events, including:
- Basketball and street basketball tournaments (including women’s categories).
- Beach volleyball and disc golf tournaments (with women’s participation).
- Football tournaments.
- Yoga and gymnastics festival for women.
- Orienteering events across the border.
- A joint running event.
- Two virtual orienteering campaigns using mobile apps and virtual maps.
Expected Results:
- A more connected and active sports community in the cross-border region.
- Greater participation of women in various sports activities.
- Opportunities for both experienced athletes and beginners to engage in at least one cross-border event.
- A sustainable model for future sports cooperation between the regions.
