Programme priorities

The programme is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and co-financed by national partners and participants. The total ERDF budget available for commitments to projects during the period 2021 to 2027 amounts to €26,044,980, which is matched with public and private co-financing.

The programme strategy is built around four priorities under four policy objectives outlined by the European Commission.

Growing through neighbourly cooperation! 

Programme priorities:
 

1. More cooperating cross border regions and development of joint services
Total ERDF support: 4,216,710.00 EUR

The aim of the priority is to improve and provide public services across borders by removing barriers through pilot measures. This involves promoting cross-border cooperation at the local government level, improving services in border areas, and increasing the capacity of relevant organizations. Additionally, there is a focus on exchanging skills between communities. Read more >>

2. Jointly and smartly growing businesses
Total ERDF support: 5,700,000.00 EUR

The priority focuses on enhancing the growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises; increasing cooperation between research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the public sector to promote innovation and entrepreneurship; creating and strengthening international innovation networks and clusters and supporting internationalization. 3. Sustainable and resilient programme area
Total ERDF support: 9,970,00.00 EUR

The priority focuses on promoting nature conservation, biodiversity, and green infrastructure, especially in urban environments; reducing pollution, as well as focusing on waste prevention in border areas and developing innovative and sustainable strategies for this purpose. Read more >>

The priority focuses on increasing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation; joint development of sustainable and accessible tourism products and services based on the diverse natural and cultural heritage of the programme area, etc. Read more >>
