Project Overview:
Rooted Heritage strengthens cross-border community ties between Mustvee in Estonia and Cēsis in Latvia through activities focused on heritage plant preservation. The project addresses shared challenges such as rural depopulation, social isolation among older adults and the decline of traditional ecological and cultural knowledge. Heritage plants are used as a way to connect people, preserve traditions and promote local identity.
Project Objective
The objective is to enhance cooperation between the two communities by preserving heritage plant varieties, sharing traditional knowledge and involving community members in cross-border cultural activities that build belonging and strengthen regional identity.
