This project aims to strengthen connections between people on both sides of the border and promote twinning activities through shared cultural experiences.
Project Objective:
- To foster cross-border cooperation by bringing together people from Latvia and Estonia through joint cultural events.
- To promote cultural exchange by using a shared repertoire of Latvian and Estonian songs.
- To enhance understanding of common historical and cultural heritage, traditions, and languages.
Key Activities:
- 4 educational events, each including a concert and informal gathering.
- 2 music festivals involving nearly 300 participants.
- Development of a joint song repertoire, featuring folk songs, traditional music, and pop songs in Latvian and Estonian.
- Creation and publication of the song collection, including:
- Sheet music and lyrics (edited and prepared by specialists).
- Online and printed publications.
- Recorded musical material for long-term use.
Expected Results:
- Increased cross-border cooperation between cultural institutions in Latvia and Estonia.
- Stronger community engagement, particularly among cultural workers, amateur art groups, and other active social groups (e.g., pensioners).
- A unique and innovative song collection that will serve as a basis for future cross-border cultural activities.
