Project Objective:

The Health4Cardio project is a cross-border cooperation initiative between:

• BioCC OÜ (Estonia) – Expertise in lactic acid bacteria cultures, clinical trials with probiotics and functional foods.
• SISTEMU INOVACIJAS JSC – Si Biotech (Latvia) – Specializes in CO₂ supercritical fluid extraction for natural substance research and production.

The goal is to combine expertise from both partners to develop a prototype of an innovative dietary supplement, leveraging:

• A clinically researched and patented probiotic strain.
• Sea-buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) seed oil.
• A technological solution to ensure stability and health benefits for cardiovascular and gut health.

Key Activities:

• Developing an innovative technology to combine probiotics with sea-buckthorn oil.
• Conducting a preliminary clinical trial to determine:
  • Mechanism of action.
  • Bioavailability and health benefits.

Expected Results:

• A synergistic dietary supplement prototype with validated health benefits.
• A jointly developed technological solution for combining probiotic bacteria with natural oils.
• Increased competitiveness and growth for both partners through:
  • Knowledge exchange.
  • Cross-border innovation.
