Project Overview:
FILMLINK strengthens cooperation between regional film sectors in Tartu (Estonia) and Liepāja (Latvia). The project brings together film fund professionals and local film communities to build connections, exchange knowledge and support the development of more film-friendly regions.
The project addresses the lack of cooperation between regional film communities in Estonia and Latvia. While national-level structures exist, there are no established networks connecting regional film funds and professionals across the border, limiting opportunities for joint development.
Project Objective
The objective is to build mutual trust and cooperation between Tartu and Liepāja film communities by strengthening professional capacities, supporting knowledge exchange and creating a foundation for future cross-border collaboration.
Key Activities
- Networking events and joint seminars for film fund staff and stakeholders.
- Training sessions and study visits to exchange knowledge and experience.
- Development of an impact measurement framework for film productions.
- Case study activities analysing regional film projects and their impact.
Expected Results:
- Stronger connections between Tartu and Liepāja film communities.
- Improved capacity of regional film funds to support film development.
- Better understanding of the economic, cultural and social impact of film production.
- New opportunities for cross-border cooperation and future joint initiatives.
