Project Overview:

FARED (First Aid Readiness for Safer Cross-Border Communities) addresses challenges faced by communities in the Estonia-Latvia border area, including limited access to emergency services and different levels of first aid knowledge. The project aims to strengthen preparedness and improve community safety through cooperation between the Red Cross organisations in Estonia and Latvia.

The project brings together volunteers, community members and organisations from both countries to improve practical first aid skills, increase awareness of emergency preparedness and strengthen cross-border cooperation. Through joint activities and shared learning, participants will be better prepared to respond to emergencies and support safer communities.

Project Objective

The project aims to improve first aid readiness and strengthen cross-border cooperation between communities in Estonia and Latvia by increasing practical first aid knowledge, preparedness and volunteer engagement.

Key Activities

  • Organisation of joint first aid training activities for participants from Estonia and Latvia.
  • Exchange of experience and knowledge between the Estonian and Latvian Red Cross organisations.
  • Involvement of volunteers and community members in preparedness and safety activities.
  • Awareness-raising activities promoting first aid knowledge and emergency readiness.
  • Strengthening cooperation between border communities through joint cross-border actions.
