At the the Closure Event of Interreg programmes 2014-2020 in Latvia š±š», organised by Vides aizsardzÄ«bas un reÄ£ionÄlÄs attÄ«stÄ«bas ministrija, project @JÅ«rtaka / Ranniku Matkarada / Baltic Coastal Hiking was acknowledged as the most successful, impactful, visible Estonia-Latvia cooperation project.
The developed product has inspired the creation of other trails, boosted businesses and changed the lifestyle of many people. It has put our countries as hiking destinations on the world map (look into Lonely Planet!).
We appreciate the work of Lauku CeļotÄjs / Baltic Country Holidays, Kurzemes plÄnoÅ”anas reÄ£ions, Eesti Maaturism, Vidzeme Tourism Association, LƤƤne-Eesti Turism, Salacgriva, Saulkrasti and Carnikava municipalities, Raili Mengel, Juris Smaļinskis, Asnate Ziemele and other members of the dedicated cross-border team behind this great achievement!
