We are preparing the Estonia-Latvia Programme 2028-2034 and want to build it on the experience of people working in the border region. The seminars are interactive workshops rather than traditional conferences. Participants share experiences, discuss shared challenges and look for practical cooperation opportunities that the future programme could support.
WEDNESDAY 25 NOVEMBER
Closer cross-border institutional cooperation
Who it is for: municipalities, regional organisations, development agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders involved in Estonian-Latvian cooperation.
What we will do: share experiences of cross-border cooperation, look at challenges and opportunities, discuss the needs of communities and institutions in border regions, and collect ideas and recommendations for the new programme period. It is also a chance to meet colleagues from both countries.
THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER
Cross-border crisis preparedness and civil protection
Who it is for: crisis preparedness specialists, rescue service professionals, emergency management practitioners, local government representatives, first aid service providers, volunteer organisations and other professionals working in safety and resilience.
What we will do: discuss cross-border crisis preparedness challenges, cooperation between rescue, emergency, healthcare, volunteer and local government actors, and needs and opportunities for future cooperation and projects. The day includes group exercises and ends with a joint visit to the Salacgrīva Crisis Centre.
