38 project applications submitted within the third call

The Interreg VI-A Estonia-Latvia Programme's third call for project applications officially closed last Friday. A total of 38 applications were received, involving 119 partners and requesting €10.37 million in ERDF funding, exceeding the €5.32 million available.

Thirds call targeted key priorities:

  • More Cooperating Cross-Border Regions and Development of Joint Services: This priority aims to enhance cross-border cooperation through the development of joint services and initiatives that bring Estonian and Latvian communities closer together.
  • Jointly and Smartly Growing Businesses: This priority supports innovative collaborations between businesses in Estonia and Latvia, focusing on smart growth and the exchange of knowledge and resources.
  • Sustainable and Resilient Programme Area: Projects under this priority are expected to contribute to environmental sustainability and the resilience of the cross-border region, addressing issues such as climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable resource management.

The Joint Secretariat facilitated 97 consultations, highly rated by participants at 4.7 out of 5 for their usefulness.

The process now moves into the technical eligibility check and initial quality assessment phase.
