ENTER

Estonian-Latvian collaboration to develop the delivery and counselling system for small private clinics and increase capabilities to provide modern prenatal screening in less developed regions.

Project objective and activities:

The ENTER (EstoNian LaTvian prEnatal scReening) is a cross-border cooperation project that:

  • Aims to harvest from modern gene and digital technologies, and to boost the quality and access to personalized medicine services in private clinics outside of capitals.
  • Tackles the challenge of enabling wider access and quality of prenatal screening  (pregnancy follow-up) and counselling.
  • Brings together four innovative Estonian and Latvian SMEs and supports knowledge transfer, development of innovative services and provides scale-up experience across borders.
  • Introduces a clinical study with 300 NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) tests in Pieriga and Vidzeme regions together with digital ordering and counselling system, and clinicians preparation on how to consult, deliver, interpret and communicate the results to their patients.
  • Develops the capabilities of project partners to meet the need for genetic consultations through clinicians and directly to the patients.
  • Is unique as it gives SMEs opportunity to control the whole service provision in-house and offer novel counseling services.
