Together in Sports

Joint trainings and competitions in Estonia and Latvia.

Project objective and activities:

The objective of the project is to establish closer cross-border cooperation in the field of sports, highlighting cooperation among municipal sports specialists in the Latvian and the Estonian border areas, as well as young people who are involved in sports trainings or would like to start trainings. The main aim of the project is to learn about successful experience of the other country and to improve mutual co-operation in sports in the border municipalities of Latvia and Estonia.

In the project framework, joint competitions in track-and-field athletics, tournaments in football, basketball, and floorball, as well as shooting competitions, will be organized for the first time between the two countries. Additionally, three sports camps will be conducted for athletes from both nations. Furthermore, there will be three exchange visits for sports specialists from all partners, providing an opportunity for sports school/club attendees to learn about the successful experiences of the other country in organizing sports events and promoting an active lifestyle.

The target groups of the project include sports specialists, coaches, members of sports teams, trainees in track-and-field athletics and shooting, as well as all residents in the project partner municipalities who are engaged in sports or have the intention to do so.
